Exhibitor Tips

  • Keep your booth free from obstacles. You don't want anything coming between you and potential new clients.
  • Use eye-catching graphics and displays to attract the attention of expo attendees.
  • While working your booth, avoid talking on your cell phone, reading, eating, etc. This will make you less approachable when a potential new client walks by your booth.
  • Less is more. Too many products/items may make your booth look cluttered and intimidate expo attendees.
  • Use promotional items as a thank you for the potential new client stopping by your booth, not as a way to attract clients to your booth.
    • For example, if a potential new client signs up for your mailing list, they receive a promotional item. This will limit the items that you need, help you attract potential new clients who are really interested in your business and help you turn the potential new client into a regular client.
  • Quickly acknowledge expo attendees who visit your booth, find out why they are at the show, see how you can assist them and thank the attendee for stopping by.
  • Engage as many expo attendees as possible with eye contact, a greeting or gesture. Try not to ignore anyone, make some form of contact.
  • Wear comfortable shoes.
  • Set goals for you and your staff.
  • Promote your participation in the expo through direct mail pieces to your clients, handing out invites, mention the expo at your shows or parties, display expo flyers and posters in a visible are of your office, on your web site, etc. Marketing materials for each expo is provided at no cost to exhibitors, take advantage of this.
  • Attitude is everything - show your enthusiasm for your company and product to expo attendees.
  • Follow-up on all leads that you collect at the expo.
